..IBIBO.COM Connection..
For the first time engineers are producing something completly different a complete separate stride the movie – THE BET. India’s one of the most reputed engineering colleges “Delhi college of engineering” along with groups from other ppl of DU the students have come up with an audition plan with none other than ibibo.com itself for 29th Jan – 29th feb to let the world know about the great ideology of this movie (supposedly a blockbuster) and alreday on the lines of becoming something of the CULT status.....
The deal is to run a show “iactor” on the show. The show would soon where everyone (INDIAN/OVERSEAS) can upload their vedios. The directorial team would select a few exceptionally talented and fortunate people and give them a chance to be a part of show by starring in this movie.

On an overall view not only these but the whole of the college is working on this movie with appreciable zeal and zest. He is a very basic guy ,who demands very basic things from life ,with not so basic ,on the other hand ,very skilled management and marketing tactics .but basically ,he is a ambitious chap ,with “euthu” in his heart and “creativeness” in his brains .now please don’t fret about the excess use of phrase basic ,bcoz this is what he does known to take charge of things in his stride .pointing towards excellent leadership qualities .Extremely techno savvy and our informer tell us that he takes his lappy to the bathroom .Weird??????........... a lil !!! but on the whole has an ultimate sense of humour and according to our insider ,can recognise guts and girls in “ek nazar” and is an hard core pink Floyd fan
Surender singh chaplot:
Widely known as “chaplot” n ppl find it hard to believe that his name is actually “surender “ computer geek to the extremes... he can be found with his dear lappy on his lap ,anywhere in the whole campus. But by mistakes also,he never even peeks in his class .if you want some info related to the world of business and corporates then your search ends here ,he is the “corporate guru” you were looking for .bet anyone can beat him in the exams...
Kaustubh kirti:
The next door guy with a smile always plastered on his face ,who is a n ultra soft spoken ,dats “kausthub” for you. Waise, if you see a guy who is always on the phone ,dat might be him. To his credits ,he is the ultimate “ khabri”[INFO GUY] of the collegeand as our informers tell us he has all the upto date of the girl’s hostel.very funny ,a decent guy and really innovative and creative .deals with the corporate side of the movie with his unfailing witty quirks and remarks.
SHANTANU :.A guy with the aforementioned weird laughing style ,unique style of talking continuously ,he is one person who is very serious for his works .The poster guy of movie ,he takes one hell of a time to get ready. Its not easy to trust him initially with the work ,but the final result is always great and his work is always appreciated . one of the biggest brainstorm of the project.
Lohit lodhwala :He is the diplomat ,the born leader who can be relied on .This guy is very possessive about college and always defends it .He’s someone who can say he’s a really enjoyed life . he was instrumental in organising abhyudaya(cult fest of DCE) , and always with Sankalp Sir(ex president of the college) played a major role in changing him .His commitment is obvious from the fact that this guy actually shifted to his car for four days during the fest! Always at the back and call of the president .It was in august that he started thinking of this movie and is the main producer/co-director .this confident , good-hearted ,well-connected guy has a lot to offer to this movie .
Aarti : The terror of the teachers ,a smart girl full of spunk ,thats Aarti for you.She opens her mouth in class once and she won’t stop .always the first bencher ,any examiner taking her viva is done for. Considered the best friend of her H.O.D . ,sources tell us that she downloads everything from his office .This small package of talent is outspoken and confident . it is quite to her credit that this little girl putting 2 clips on the right side of her head was the youngest person to get internship through T and P departments in PT education.

Night LIFE
Damn interesting night!! TO begin with we were discussing the making of the poster of ‘the movie’ when - when all of a sudden an idea struck and faineeh fuineeh .....
It all began in BCH 127. Our work was to make the poster for the publicity but we could not straighten to any picture or backdrop. The poster was for the audition as well as publicity hence had to be captivating, resourceful and worthy. There was this idea of bloody party with the bet between two people in the foreground or the enligtment of one man and darkness on the other or this and that, blood spilling all around (and god knows what else was working inside our heads) ideas poured in and out rendering us in even more complications. It all began in the dead of the night when all of a sudden. I think from Chaplot ‘ WHY NOT WE MAKE REALISTIC POSTER’!!!!
Making realistic cinema does not mean everything realistic, but well things went fine.......

At twelve Lohit Sir arranged for the ‘banduk’ (actual necessity- kisi shop se maar ke laye the...)
And by the way I became the reporter for the Bet TV. Car was stationed. Leaves on the road arranged and the model sat back. Bhai saab it seemed like a real shoot. All eyes fixed complete time pass in the back ground and the reels rolling. We took some good pictures for the poster ( for the sake of reality..ism....) There were scattered leaves and smoking dew all around. Frost scattered in to the mist of emotions as we rolled in our positions. Flickering lights of the car and barrel of the gun in position. Scene went off fine as was the shoot.
Suddenly the camera battery was finished ......

10 IIT's, 7 IIM's, 19 NIT's and god knows how many colleges and universities but there is something separate, there is only one DCE.
Its speciality undoubtedly, the zeal of its students!!!!!
So after accomplishing well applauded projects in the fields of engineering, its students ask for more, to spread their wings in the fields, for thoughts are never restricted for engineering students. We are engineers damn it!
Breaking all barriers, they now have entered the field of entertainment. For the first time, a full length movie is being made only by the students, of the students and particularly for the students (as in what we say in democracy).
So now as it is said students are involved, this in itself guarantees a story, something intellectual, different, something different and absent from the present movie strength for the students do not take up any project in hand. Thus inspired from Chekov's work 'THE BET', they bring in to reel picture the movie 'THE BET' in the present scenario.
The Story involves two people, two separate entities, two beliefs and their final clash 'THE BET' which merges everything and ultimately the one who emerges is the one whose true self replies to himself. So through this mammoth task the students bring in a food for thought for two separate schools of thoughts with varied dilemmas and choices that possibly could be undertaken while executing both (for justice has to be done with the story and the audience);
Starting with twenty members hence named 'EICOS' for the production house, the students are being backed by the ' FIRST TIME FILM MAKERS' an Ahmadabad NGO. Other credentials and accolades for the team include a college video completely scrutinised by the drama team, and the co director with the title of NDTV young emerging director.
With this as base, we plough on. We as in the youth in making!!!!!
Fire in hearts, blossoming soul,
We will be winners, on the red roll....

THE PHOTGRAPHY SESSION
TO begin reading is to get into my world and I SOLEMNLY SWEaR DEAR I AM UPTO NO GOOD- COURAGE IS THE BEST DEFENCE NOW well you know this movie THe BET my new engagement is a chekhov's work turned into a complete feature adaption in high definition by some of my folks from DU with collaboration with FTFM an Ahmadabad based NGO. A full 75 mm big big ( high hopes actually) venture is under our construction.
yaar a bleak day to begin with but turned out to be actually interesting considering when you actually are being you know I mean well photographed by someone pro... something really interesting stuff.Look that way look this way, this was really interesting stuff. It seems I am going to listen a lot of real 'gaalis' when I say today the corpo work was next to trash with so many other stuff to handle especially from the tehsion taker - Lohit Sir. But well the important thing was that something actually and that something something adding upto and amounting to a lot was done today. So a fine red sunless day.
To begin with shit heads everyone its winter !!!!! so what work never stops. I mean come on- some has to teach everyone day starts at nine or max ten and that is the time when offices open not at twelve when people start walking to cafeteria to open up lunch. Meeting was at twelve for the new members and everone came up then somhow making it.. pretty clear. But well tolerable for the day its friday preweekendday so any way our work is slow this day. Orientation went superb. Man some real talent. That new buddy Shantanu seriosly would race my creativity.( I think blogs allow self talk) Lets not talk about my creativity, his caligraphy was superb, damn good. Got Eicos in some simmering fonts cool stuff and topping it promt in thought. Even the new corpo group was well fine. Work hardy, I suppose. We segregated them into publicity, corporate and the T5 bank- to you know to do what typing stuff ( even though Manisha ( T5 Boss strictly told me not to ).. well no other choice come on girls you would be better writing stuff I suppose. No offence.
Well the day progressed, a failed mass bunk loaded with dhamki from teacher of -10 in prac and subject some this and that corpo work and finally the interesting part. Fhoto session ppl...one thing you know I want to talk about. Seriosly this lady Sonal from Times Out freakinly innovative women that slot, that background, this that otherway, here there, a real photo shoot. She took pics of the surroundings , working groups, members of drama team, screenplay, director...... It ended fine, had to well my photo was sesssion was towards the end. Posing well- good feed to end the day...

New look...
Hi there! I made some alterations to the design of the blog this morning (4 a.m. qualifies for the morning right!). Tried to incorporate the feel of a production house. Managed to work out the header, the background, the sidebar, the footer and the general feel. However, there is still lot to ponder on (mainly about including the elements that are directly related to the film without revealing too much about the script.. of course!)
Guys.. I'll be needing your inputs on this one.. Help! :)

Lets begin!
Hey! First post eh! Isn't it apt that the same is being penned (typed.. or whatever you might want to decipher that as..) by someone from the technical team!
Anyways..For the fellas at EICOS who haven't been updated about the recent developments (and the rest of the lot too...), well here are the bytes. We are through with the initial phase of the internet related technical work. The blog for 'The Bet' (yeah.. the one that you are currently reading...) and the website of 'EICOS' have both been uploaded and are running full throttle (umm... well.. almost...)!!
Anyways..For the fellas at EICOS who haven't been updated about the recent developments (and the rest of the lot too...), well here are the bytes. The blog for 'The Bet' (yeah.. the one that you are currently reading...) and the website of 'EICOS' have both been uploaded and are running full throttle (umm... well.. almost...)!!
As of now, we are on these temporary domain names for both the EICOS website and the blog for the movie (Actually, we are searching for someone.. anyone.. with a credit card!) The finalized urls will be bought by this weekend. The EICOS logo is a transient one and will be altered pretty soon (and so will be most of the other stuff!)
With this, I guess its time for you people to pitch (am I allowed to swap that 'p' with a 'b'?) in with your suggestions and requests alike so that the tech team can work on those issues (relevant ones.. of course!) and develop something better. Design, content, looks, features, logo, wallpaper, colors, theme etc.. (in short, anything and everything that you wish to see on the website of your production house..)
Come on guys! Its 'feedback' time! Lets begin!! :)
